This year, I’ve continued purchasing and trying out new beauty products and here are all the details of my holy grail beauty products for 2022. And with the number of items I’ve been testing out throughout the months, there have been products that turned out to be several of my new favorites that I had to share and have become my go-to’s or holy grail products. If you’ve missed it, I’ve also shared My Holy Grail Beauty Products For 2021 last year if you need some good recommendations.
2022 Holy Grail Beauty: Haircare
The 2 hair products I’ve discovered this year are definitely some of the top 2022 holy grail beauty products of 2022 for me since they are so effective and you really see results.
- K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask – This leave-in treatment mask is for all hair types and clinically reverses hair damage in just 4 minutes. They have a patented peptide technology that works to repair hair damage while restoring strength, softness, and smoothness, and adds bounce and shine to the hair as well as intense moisture. This hair mask is great if you need to repair your hair and want immediate results and super soft hair. I’ve also done a full blog post review of the K18 Vs. Olaplex hair masks.
- Moroccanoil All In One Leave-In Conditioner – This all in one leave-in conditioner instantly detangles, hydrates, and protects the hair against breakage and thermal damage. It nourishes and softens the hair for up to 72 hours and is lightweight. I interchange using Olaplex, K18, and a leave-in conditioner. This year I tried the Moroccanoil Leave-In Conditioner and I love the results. My hair is actually very soft for the next few days and it immediately helps my hair detangle after washing which I really need.
2022 Holy Grail Beauty: Makeup
This year, I have a few 2022 holy grail makeup products that I love and have worked really well for me. With its great performance, I had to share some recommendations!
Eyes
- Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara – This non-clumping mascara provides volumized and lifted lashes for up to 24 hours. It targets every single lash for a fuller effect with fanned-out lashes. Finding a mascara that doesn’t smudge, lasts all day, and provides enough volume and length is hard to find for me. I was very impressed with this mascara since it did all of the above, and especially so that it didn’t smudge and kept its lift all day.
Face
- Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas Primer – The Tatcha primer protects skin from pollutants and keeps your makeup on longer. The thin layers of silk and a special blend of botanical extracts act as a barrier between your skin and makeup to prevent clogged pores. This primer feels very luxurious and I that like it doesn’t feel like your typical primer and is actually silky smooth on the skin. My makeup applies effortlessly after using this.
- Tarte Cosmetics Face Tape Foundation – This full-coverage foundation has a natural matte finish while the tape technology smooths texture and blurs the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. I only need to use one to one and a half pumps for my entire face and it applies flawlessly and does a good job with coverage. My skin looks very smooth with this foundation and although it says it’s transfer-proof, it definitely is not but that’s not a dealbreaker for me.
- Jaclyn Cosmetics Skin Perfecting Blurring Tint – The Jaclyn Cosmetics skin tint is a blurring primer and tinted moisturizer in one. It is not a foundation, but a sheer coverage tint that delivers a natural finish that blurs texture and enhances the look of your skin. As of writing this blog post, I have heard that Jaclyn is discontinuing this and reformulating since the reviews were not so good for this or the concealer, but I was surprised how much I actually liked and preferred using it. I normally only go for full-coverage foundations but this worked well to cover my blemishes and provided a very natural look. The color range isn’t large enough (I used Medium), but adding bronzer to the outer rim of my face helped it blend much better. It lasts all day, looks natural, and doesn’t transfer as easily as other foundations do.
- Jaclyn Cosmetics Mood Light Luminous Powder – This luminous powder gives extra glow and it is infused with diamond and rose quartz powders and blurs imperfections, enhances your complexion, and delivers a radiant finish. This luminous powder works great as an overall setting powder, or even as a highlighter. My face is glowing after applying this powder and I was surprised how much I liked the final outcome as I am more used to matte looks. The particles are also a little larger than setting powders and have an interesting and different texture to them.
- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray – This oil-free, lightweight, hydrating setting spray from Charlotte Tilbury primes and sets your makeup for up to 16 hours. It instantly locks in your look and provides smoothing, pore-blurring effects. What I liked most about this setting spray is that it actually works. After using this setting spray, my makeup transfers the least out of any other ones I have used and you can really feel the staying power.
2022 Holy Grail Beauty: Skincare
I found several great skincare products this year that have become 2022 holy grail beauty items for me. I have really enjoyed these products and it’s great to have a large beauty arsenal to choose from when needed.
Eyes
- Cerave Eye Repair Cream – This non-greasy, fast-absorbing, fragrance-free formula that minimizes the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes. It has 3 essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and a Marine and Botanical Complex to help brighten the entire eye area. I normally don’t use drugstore products, but because of all the rage I hear about this brand and I found it on sale, I thought I’d give this eye cream a try. It was moisturizing, not heavy, and I think that it prevented my dark circles and under-eye bags from getting worse. It’s a good eye cream if you’re looking for something cheap and quick.
- Glamglow BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream – The Glamglow illuminating eye cream instantly brightens dark circles and reduces visible signs of fatigue for a well-rested and glowing look. I like the smoothness of this eye cream and that it did provide a bit of glow to my under-eyes. It was also hydrating enough and seemed to prevent any fine lines.
Face
- Farmacy Whipped Greens Oil-Free Foaming Cleanser – This cleanser purifies and gently exfoliates the skin, detoxes, absorbs oil and replenishes hydration. I like the scent and texture of this cleanser and my face felt really clean without the tight feeling. I felt like it worked and actually provided a benefit, whereas some cleansers I find don’t do much.
- Farmacy Deep Sweep Pore Cleaning 2% AHA Toner – This alcohol-free toner deeply exfoliates, unclogs pores, and controls oil without over-stripping the skin. It makes your skin feel super clean and refreshing. It also cleans really well and removes any leftover residue from makeup as well.
- Fenty Skin Fat Water Niacinamide Pore-Refining Toner Serum – The Fenty Skin Fat Water Toner Serum is like its name says, a toner and serum treatment in one. It tightens the look of pores, helps fade dark spots, smooths and plumps the skin, and helps with shine without stripping moisture. I liked the convenience of this 2 in 1 skincare product, the scent, and that it was a hydrating and seemed to keep my skin clear.
- Ren Skincare Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic – This skin-refining toner helps to eliminate dulling dead skin cells and exfoliates away excess sebum for a brighter, clarified, hydrated, smoother, and more even-looking complexion. I do feel that with this toner that it is exfoliating and clarifies my skin quite well. You only use this toner at night and should use sunscreen the next day (as always). With this, you’ll also need a different toner in the mornings if you need or prefer one.
- La Neige Water Sleeping Mask – This overnight, hydrating gel mask absorbs into the skin quickly while you sleep and deeply hydrates the skin. I like it because it feels like a light moisturizer but it’s actually strong enough to give my face extra hydration overnight, especially during the winter.
- Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence – Essence help fight breakouts, improve skin radiance, adds long-lasting hydration and is formulated to sin deep and fast into the skin. This Peach & Lily Essence will make your skin dewy as well as protect against environmental stresses. I felt that this essence was quite hydrating, and kept my skin dewy and plump. I feel that it also helped with maintaining clear skin along with other products I used, but I really enjoyed this.
- Peach & Lily Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser – This gel cleanser draws out impurities without stripping the skin or disrupting the skin barrier. It starts off as a silky clear gel that lathers into a soft, milky foam for a deep cleanse. And that’s exactly why I like this cleanser – it feels really silky and smooth on the skin but does a really good job of cleansing it without making it feel dry.
- Native Face Sunscreen and Body Sunscreen – These mineral sunscreens with an active ingredient of zinc oxide have a Broad Spectrum SPF 30 that protects your skin from the sun without a white residue, thickness, or greasiness. And it does exactly what it says – it absorbed easily, it wasn’t thick, and never left a white residue. It applied very well on the face and body and I loved the Coconut and Pineapple scent, but I also love that there is an unscented option. Definitely one of the best sunscreens I have used!
- Ole Henriksen Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence – This skincare boosting Vitamin C Essence improves brightness by 17% over time, defends against pollution and free radicals, and preps your skin for the rest of your skincare routine. I love the real orange scent of this, it doesn’t smell artificial at all. I also love anything Vitamin C so if I’m not currently using a Vitamin C serum, I think this supplements very well. This adds moisture, protection, and brightness to my skin which I have thoroughly enjoyed.
- Ole Henriksen Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub – This dual-action warming and cooling pore-refining facial scrub has Icelandic volcanic sand glycolic and lactic acids that deeply purify pores, absorb excess oil, exfoliates, and leave the skin soft and smooth. This is a new one for me as I don’t think I’ve used a skincare product like this that you can feel the heat as you apply it. It feels and smells very nice and clean while it does a good job of exfoliating the skin.
Lips
- Jaclyn Cosmetics Hydrapout Lip Treatment – This lip treatment is silky and has Vitamin E, shea and cocoa butter that protects the lips and sodium hyaluronate which retains moisture. This blend of emollients helps keep the lips hydrated, soothed, and smooth. It also has a mint scent and a soft, glossy finish. I do wish this lip treatment came in a larger size, but I was very impressed with the staying and moisturizing power of this lip treatment. It lasted all day even under my liquid lipsticks and kept my lips moisturized without drying out even after only applying it once. It has worked better than all other lip treatments and lip balms I’ve used.
Body
- Peach & Lily KP Bump Boss Microderm Body Scrub – This body scrub was inspired by Korean bath scrubs and it delivers the benefits of a chemical peel, microdermabrasion treatment, and skin-softener in one. It helps unclog pores, visibly calms redness, and nourishes the skin. It helps with KP bumps, ingrown hairs, rough flaky skin, body breakouts, and strawberry skin. I rarely get any of the above but in drier weather, it’s good for dry, flaky skin and random body blemishes that appear once in a blue moon. After using this Peach & Lily Body Scrub, they disappear almost overnight!
2022 Holy Grail Beauty: Perfume
I seem to have a very strong nose and can smell the smallest things around me that people may not notice, so I am obsessed with good scents and of course, a good perfume. I prefer sweet, citrusy, and floral scents and this year, I’ve found several perfumes that have become holy grail beauty products for 2022.
- Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl – This perfume is a bold new interpretation of the iconic Good Girl scent and has the same gorgeous stiletto bottle. It has a fruity floral scent with notes of redcurrant, lychee, rose, and vanilla.
- Sol De Janeiro x Anitta – This limited edition collaboration perfume mist with Anitta, the famous Brazilian singer, is filled with sensuous, edgy energy with frsh passionfruit nectar, spicy pink patchouli, sweet jasmine honey, warm vanilla, and tiger orchid. This scent really reminds me of being in the Caribbean and is one of the Perfumes That Make You Feel Like You’re On Vacation.
- Kayali Eden Juicy Apple – This delicious scent is a tempting, mouth-watering fusion of crisp, juicy red apples, sweet berries, and fresh floral notes. I am obsessed with this scent and it is a little different from my usual sweet, fruity scents as it has a touch of gourmand which makes it more sensuous – it really makes a statement.
- Burberry Her – This fruity floral perfume is an artful blend of berries elevated by jasmine and violet is smoothed out with amber and musk.
- Valentino Born In Roma Coral Fantasy Donna – This floral and fuirty scent is created with energetic orange, feminine rose, and blended with jasminum grandiflorum.
- Versace Dylan Turquoise Pour Femme – This floral fragrance has a burst of primofiore lemon and Italian mandarin with heart notes of guava complemented by jasmine petals and freesia.
