The 2021 Sephora Spring Saving Event is quickly approaching in April, so start planning your shopping cart! Usually I take advantage of these beauty saving events by stocking up on my staple makeup and skincare products that I absolutely can’t go without, beauty items I use on a day-to-day basis where I’ll for sure run out before the next sale comes in winter, new makeup and skincare I really want to try.
I’ve learned though, to not stock up on too much – just because the next sale is on the way and I can get fresher products to stock up on during that time and I seem to find I want to try so many more makeup and skincare products that are not available at Sephora.
What is the 2021 Sephora Spring Saving Event?
This saving event happens twice a year, usually in April (spring) and November (winter). If you’re a Sephora Beauty Insider, you get discounts depending on the level of spending you do there. For the purpose relating to Sephora sales and this savings event in particular, here are their membership tiers and the sales and discounts you can get:
Tier | Insider | VIB | Rouge |
Seasonal Savings Events | 10% | 15% | 20% |
Free Standard Shipping | $50 minimum | $35 minimum | No minimum |
Dollar Savings Offer (this usually comes closer to Christmas time every year) | $15 | $20 | $25 |
$ amount spend to qualify | None | $350 | $1000 |
The seasonal savings events during spring and winter allow makeup lovers, beauty addicts, and occasional shoppers a discount between 10-20% for anything at Sephora, with an unlimited use. Also, depending on the tier you’re in, you get quicker access to these discounts in order to stock up on your must-have makeup, skincare, body, and hair products.

What’s In My Shopping Cart This Spring Saving Event?
As I already have a lot of makeup and skincare products in backstock, my list this time around isn’t too large. Here’s what I have ready in my shopping cart for the Sephora Spring Saving Event (which I usually have ready anyway by adding items I’d repurchase or want to try on my “Loves” list):
Becca Cosmetics Mini Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold
If you haven’t heard, because of the COVID pandemic, Becca Cosmetics is shutting down their company this September this year after 20 years of being in business. They are, I think, most well-known for the best highlighters on the market! So, I’m waiting to see if there are any upcoming sales on the Becca Cosmetics highlighters and products but I wanted to try the rose gold colour in the meantime. My favorite shade is actually Jaclyn Hill and Becca’s collaboration on this highlighter in Champagne Pop which I’m hoping to stock up on before they close down this year. This is also why I think Jaclyn Cosmetics’ new highlighters are the next go to – she knows how to glow!
La Neige Lip Sleeping Mask in Gummy Bear
Because of the dry winters and my skin not reacting nicely to it, (you can read more about it in My Skincare Journey Part 3), this year I needed a more moisturizing lip product. I normally use Blistex Mint Lip Balm and Jack Black Moisture Therapy SPF 25 Lip Balm, but it wasn’t enough to help the corner of my lips. This lip mask literally changes the texture, softness, and hydration of your lips overnight – I didn’t believe it until I tried it. The bonus is that it smells so edible, the downside though, it’s actually not.
Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation
I normally use the Kat Von D (now KVD Vegan Beauty) Lock-It Powder Foundation and Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation (now discontinued), after years of search on a good powder foundation to no avail still, since the Sephora Collection Mineral Powder Foundation discontinued in around 2012/2013. That powder made my skin look so smooth and flawless and I always got compliments on how my skin looked so good – but I really think it’s the foundation since I didn’t have the best skin. I’ve tried the Sephora Collection powder foundation a few times over the years but it just wasn’t the same. I’m giving it one more shot to see if this new formula is good, or I may very well return it and stick with KVD.
Since Fenty Skin came out, I had my eye on testing the products out. Luckily, they come in a set so I can try the cleanser, toner/serum, and moisturizer before deciding if I want to purchase which of the full-size products, or all of them. It will be interesting to see how the two-in-one toner/serum is like and if it really cuts out a step for me.
I have to say that over the years, the program has been getting worse. There’s no more refund without receipts, you only get 2 samples per online purchase when it used to be 3, and now you have to spend $75 in order to use the $25 dollar savings offer you get every December when it used to be a $50 spend.
Morphe Filter Effect Soft-Focus Foundation
This liquid foundation just launched and is a collaboration with Danessa Myricks and @MakeupShayla. I guess you could say I was swayed by the amount of influencer advertising I saw on Instagram and how perfect everyone’s skin looked and really, who could say no to soft-focus in this day and age of filters on every photo. It’s not normally a foundation brand I would go with as I like to go for a little higher-end brand to make sure I get the best ingredients for something as important as foundation as it’ll literally cover my whole face. But I’m willing to give this a try – and you can’t beat the price.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer
I’ve only used two eyeshadow primers in my life and it’s the Urban Decay Potion Primer and Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer. I’m just about done my Urbay Decay Potion Primer and I’m ready to a different primer out to see if it’ll be better as it hasn’t been working as well as I want it to. There’s still a little smudging due to my oily eyelids and I heard really good things about the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
I’ve just recently tried this Brow Definer in Medium Brown I got from one of Sephora’s mini gift offers when you make a purchase of $35. I don’t normally do my brows and I’ve never had to shape them, luckily I was born with nice brows as people have told me. Occasionally, I’ll pluck a couple stray hairs from under my arch but that’s it. But in order to complete my makeup look, I find it necessary to do my brows sometimes. That being said, I still like keeping them as natural as possible and filling them in as needed, but lightly. Out of the ABH Dip Brow, Brow Wiz, and Benefit Gimme Brow Gel that I’ve tried, the ABH Brow Definer blew them all out of the water. It was so easy to use, made doing my brows really quick, and is already shaped in a way where you can go with the curve of your brow. It also gave my brows a really natural, effortless look which I love.
Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint
This literally just launched at the end of March and I thought this would be great to have on the days when I want a more natural look and not have heavy or full coverage foundation on. The fact that it gives an instant blurring effect to your skin is a plus! It’s hydrating as well as non-transferable and humidity and sweat-resistant. This skin tint allows for a light to medium, buildable coverage should I need it.
4 Tips On Deciding What To Add To Your Saving Event’s Shopping Cart
- Think of how long it takes you to use up a certain product and stock up enough for until the next sale. Don’t overstock like I used to and not even have the opportunity to use the products for almost 2 years.
- Keep your favourite products or must-try items on your Sephora “Loves” list. This makes it easy for you to go through the list and quickly add to your basket. It also makes it easier for you to reference back to in the future when you need to repurchase an item.
- Get the beauty products that only Sephora carries, and that you can’t find anywhere else. And if you can find them somewhere else, make sure you’re getting the best discount at the 2021 Sephora Spring Saving Event when you need to make a purchase.
- Purchase items you’ve been dying to try, at least now you can determine for the future whether or not you’d like to repurchase it again during the next sales saving event. If not, at least you didn’t pay full price for it! (You can also return it if you really hate it).
