New! Morphe Sweet Oasis Eyeshadow Palette
When I saw Morphe launching the Sweet Oasis 35-pan eyeshadow palette, I knew I had to get my hands on it! I think this is the best colour scheme (thanks to @iluvsarahhii) that they came out with and totally gives me vacation and sunset vibes – I’m all for travel! Also, the blues and turquoises just totally drew me in – if you couldn’t tell by my blog’s colour theme, they’re my favourite colours. (Did anyone else get reminded of the Miami Heat’s 2021 jerseys from this palette though?)
Sweet Oasis It Is
The new Morphe Sweet Oasis packaging is a blue-pink-orange ombre and immediately reminded me of the colourful sunsets I see at the beach when I travel. But once I open the cover, omigosh, I can’t explain how many times I just keep staring at it. Maybe it’s a me thing or do a lot of makeup lovers do the same? It’s almost too pretty to use and I might just buy a backup in case. I love that it has a good range of shades and doesn’t only have a pop or two of bright colours like they do in their other 35-pan eyeshadow palettes. This allows for more creativity and even more makeup looks as you can create so many colour combinations with this palette. The Sweet Oasis launch also came just right in time as we needed some colour in our lives after being in lockdown for so long.
Quality & Shade Range
Quality wise, it is on the same scale as the other Morphe eyeshadow palettes – aside from Jaclyn Hill’s Eyeshadow Palette which seems a bit more buttery and slightly more luxurious. Morphe did let her have free reign on the formula creation after all. There is some fallout depending on the shade you use (usually the darker ones) and how careful you are when applying your eye makeup but I think that is to be expected in a some cases.
The eyeshadows are nicely pigmented and the colours can really pop, but I do tend to have a lighter hand when I use this palette most times as I don’t normally do full-face extreme makeup looks on a daily basis. Keep an eye out for when I do more makeup looks with this palette though, I’ll definitely create bolder looks! The shades are easily blendable and can work on a lot of skin tones and eye colours. Also, how cute are the shade names?
5 Tips On Making Your Eyeshadow & Eyeshadow Palette Last
These tips I found are what works for me and may come handy to you as well.
- Using an eyeshadow primer like the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion will really help keep the colours on your eyes more vibrant and lasting much longer. And if you have slightly oily eyelids like me, it’ll keep your colours from fading and or smudging into each other the wrong way. And yes, you can tell a difference!
- I usually try to clean my eyeshadow palette and around the colour pans after each use with a Q-Tip to keep the fallout from touching other colours and prevent colour smudging in the future. To me, it also seems a bit more sanitary and keeps the aesthetic of this beautiful Sweet Oasis eyeshadow palette.
- I tend to keep the protective plastic sheet cover on my eyeshadow palette to protect said fallout as well as from having other unwanted particles in my eyeshadow. It also keeps the lid clean and prevents the eyeshadow fallout from slipping the packaging and going on other places when I take it with me somewhere.
- I found that lightly pressing my eyeshadow brushes into the pan instead of brushing back and forth or randomly tapping it when I get the colour helps prevent fallout around the palette as well as pick up colours better and with more intention. Do tap off the excess eyeshadow to prevent fallout as well.
- Don’t forget to clean your makeup brushes! I know I get lazy sometimes and don’t always clean my brushes after every use (does anyone?) or even after every couple uses, but this will help you make sure you’re getting the exact eyeshadow colour you want when you apply it. Of course, it’s also sanitary. Dermatologists do recommend that you clean your brushes every 7-10 days so that can be a starting point.
