I’ll start by saying – I’m a bag lover, and that obsession naturally extends to my luggage as well. While I don’t stress too much about the look of my checked bags (although I do prefer a nice-looking one) since they get cuffed or damaged in transit a majority of the time, my carry-on roller is a different story – I want something that’s both stylish and functional. After breaking 5 roller suitcases in just 3 years or so, I knew it was time to invest in something more durable.
Beis luggage has been on my radar for a while, and after my favorite carry-on roller from It Luggage finally gave out, I started looking into Beis, a travel brand founded by actress Shay Mitchell, known for its chic, thoughtful functionality, and well-priced luggage and travel accessories. And while it’s easy to assume it’s just another celebrity-backed brand, the quality and rave reviews speak for themselves.
I decided to try the Beis Carry-On Roller in Atlas Pink (matte) – a shade that perfectly matches my current Pink Girl Era. Atlas Pink is a soft, muted blush pink with a neutral undertone, making it both elegant and versatile – not too bright but just enough pink to stand out while still looking sophisticated.
Just in case you missed it, I shared a blog post on the Carry-On Luggage And Suitcases I Use And Where To Get Them, and if you’ve read it, you’ll know that price is just as important to me as quality. So, I couldn’t have timed it better when I started searching for a new carry-on right as Beis was having their Virtual Warehouse Sale in March 2024 – and I got it for 40% off the $238 USD/$319 CAD price tag! This review is for travelers who want a real-user perspective before purchasing – not just the standard product specs, but a breakdown of who this luggage is best for, what I love about it, what could be better, and why I ultimately chose it. If you’re debating whether the Beis Carry-On Roller is worth it, keep reading – I’ve got all the details you need before making your decision.

Beis Carry-On Roller Design And Durability

When I first saw the Beis Carry-On Roller in Atlas Pink in person, it was exactly as I expected from the many photos I’ve seen online during my research – the color is true to the images but appears a bit lighter in brighter lighting (which I actually love). This muted, blush pink is subtle and feminine without being overly bold, making it the perfect choice for someone who loves a soft, elegant touch. While Beis offers a range of beautiful colors (including limited edition colors), I was drawn to Atlas Pink, especially since I’m in my Pink Girl Era!
The hard shell is impressively durable, with a slightly textured finish that enhances its very understated ruggedness. I’ve seen videos where the roller was dropped down a flight of stairs and thrown off a building, yet it remained intact – that level of durability was one of the key reasons I chose this luggage, considering so many of mine broke over the last couple of years, durability was a non-negotiable for me.
To keep this beautiful piece of luggage looking pristine, I also purchased a clear luggage protector on Amazon (although Beis also sells their own Luggage Covers), just in case I was forced to check it in. When that time did come, the roller was perfectly protected, with a few scuff marks that I was able to clean off 99% of them with a Lysol wet wipe and a Magic Eraser thankfully. We all know how brutal checking in your luggage can be, so I was relieved to see it in such great condition the one time I did have to check it in.
Beis Carry-On Roller Functionality And Performance
First off, I have to say that I love the size of the Beis Carry-On Roller. It fits a lot so you can pack everything you need for a weekend getaway, or even a full-week-long vacation, yet compact enough to stay manageable. The multiple zipper compartments are great for organization, making it easy to separate clothes, accessories, and smaller items.
However, it’s important to note that, although it’s marketed as a carry-on, it may not fit within carry-on limits for every single airline. The bag is slightly larger than some standard carry-on sizes by about an inch or so, so if you’re flying with an airline that has strict size restrictions, you may want to double-check before your flight or risk having to check it in. (If you’re worried about the size, the Small Carry-On Roller is also available. It is H: 21” W: 13” D: 9” with a capacity of 33.5 liters. I did see this one in person before, but I thought it was much too small for my needs and could be about the same size as an expandable backpack or a large tote.)
That being said, the space it offers is pretty impressive. It can definitely hold enough for a full week’s vacation (or more if you’re really good at packing – I once traveled to Japan with a carry-on roller and didn’t even have to repeat an outfit for over 2 weeks). The expandable features give you even more room for extra items, and the compression straps ensure everything stays in place while maximizing space. Real-World Use – Traveling With The Beis Carry-On Roller

For my first time using the Beis Carry-On Roller, I had a roundtrip flight with Air Canada from Toronto to Phoenix, Arizona and had no issues with the size of my roller on the way there and it fit perfectly into the overhead bin. However, on the return flight to Toronto, I was asked to place my luggage in the sizer and was forced to check it in (thankfully I had my luggage protector handy). Although it was just a tad too big for the luggage sizer, it 100% fits in the overhead bin – it’s just a matter of how strict your gate agent is. If you’re flying with budget carriers or internationally, just be aware this may occasionally happen.
Because I do pack my bags to the brim every time I travel, it can get a bit heavy and it might be hard to lift for some people when fully packed – but glad to report that I was still under the weight limit as the weight indicator didn’t turn red. The roller handles dirt and scratches pretty well, but I have not tested this in the rain as of yet (and hope I won’t have to)! But from what I can tell, it’s very durable and pretty easy to clean.
Final Verdict – Should You Buy The Beis Carry-On Roller?
I absolutely love the Beis Carry-On Roller and it’s my favorite piece of luggage right now, especially with how aesthetic and classy it looks along with the way it rolls so smoothly, how roomy it is and the organizational features that made packing and traveling a breeze. It’s durable and well thought out with little details that elevate the overall design. It’s not the cheapest option I’ll admit (unless you get it on sale!), but if you’re looking for a carry-on that offers both style and practicality, it’s definitely worth the investment for travelers who want luggage that is durable, stylish, and practical. Just keep in mind that while it’s the perfect size for most travelers, it may not meet every airline’s carry-on restrictions. If you’re a frequent traveler who values functionality, durability, and design, this carry-on roller is definitely a winner. I only wish I got my Beis luggage sooner so I didn’t have to go through the headache of breaking so many over the past couple of years.
I would also like to mention that they do have a limited warranty policy on their luggage, which usually covers defects in materials or craftsmanship. While the warranty doesn’t cover wear and tear from normal use or damage caused by mishandling during travel, it’s great to know they stand behind the quality of their products (I’ll talk about this more in my next Beis review on the other products I’ve gotten from them) and ensures that your investment is protected and gives you peace of mind while traveling with your new luggage. If you encounter issues with your Beis Carry-On Roller, you can reach out to their customer service for assistance – I think they will treat the issues on a case-by-case basis.
Where To Buy Beis Luggage + Sales
You can purchase the Beis Carry-On Roller directly from their official site or through various retailers including Nordstrom, Revolve, Anthropologie, and Indigo. I have also seen certain Beis products available at Winners (Canadian version of TJ Maxx or Ross), where you can sometimes find the small carry-on roller for $180 CAD compared to $293 CAD on the Beis website, making it a great place to score a deal if you’re lucky enough to find it. I’ve also seen the Mini Weekender and Weekender for $89 CAD and $99 CAD respectively, compared to the $132 CAD and $145 CAD price tag on their website.
Beis also frequently holds random sales throughout the year, ranging from 15-50% off from what I’ve seen the past 2 years. One of the best times to buy is during their Virtual Warehouse Sale, usually held in the Spring around March or April, where you can find some major discounts between 30-40% off. Keep an eye out for flash sales, especially around Black Friday, when you might snag up to 50% off some items as well.
